Grumpy Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 G'day Fellas. Hey i've got my son here wanting to download some youtube boxing videos, How do I, or can I, do this?. We want to then burn them to disc.I have a DVD burner in the computer and I have NERO, Quicktime and Windows media player
JA Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Hello Grumpy, I'm no expert on the matter, but there are Youtube download programs one can get that allow you to do this. One can get these from the usual computer swap meets or download one on line (be careful what you download and install) . I have tried one called "Get-it" which seems to work well. When installed and when you are on youtube, when the mouse is over the youtube image a "Get it" icon appears which when clicked allows you to download the file. The only issue is sometimes the format: mp4, flv, etc... may or may not be to your liking and you have to try to deal with that through video converter or video editing software . There was also another downloader I once tried called something like Orbit. Best JA
emesbee Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 (edited) I've used the ant video downloader with firefox. Works well. http://www.ant.com/video-downloader (I should add that I'm currently running firefox version 3.6.18. I don't know if it works with firefox 4.) Edited July 11, 2011 by emesbee
whitenoise Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Thanks fellas I'll see what i can do. Check this one: http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/ Its pretty good with nice features. You can also use online sites to download youtube vids.
Grumpy Posted July 13, 2011 Author Posted July 13, 2011 I've used the link that MSB posted and it works fine - still don't know how to burn them to disc though!!! (I am such a DUMMY)
ophool Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Grumps, it depends on how you want to play them after burning to disc. If you just want to play them on a computer it is easier, if you want to play them on a normal standalone DVD player, there is a little more involved. There are freeware programs that can do this for you. If you like I could probably write up a few suggestions and a sort of guide. PM for more info. regards, Tony G

whitenoise Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 Its pretty easy, in which format are your videos? Which Nero version you have? Probably this helps: http://www.wikihow.com/Burn-a-Video-Using-Nero
