Luc Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 @Jake: How good is Kaputt eh, I understand why it's only received 5 star reviews so far. The Y/Tube vids are bunk imo but the music...blended Nu Acid Jazz and Indie cool. Excellent stuff. Have managed to grab some very hard to get Blues recordings Big Jack Jackson The Oil Man Got Drunk-Rooster Blues Sessions 93/94/95 Jimmy Dawkins Fast Fingers With Eddie Shaw and Mighty Joe Young. Delmark 623 Earl-hooker-play-your-guitar-Mr-hooker. Earl Hooker - Guitar, Vocals Muddy Waters Jr.,Little Tommy, Frank Clark - Vocals A.C. Reed, Bobby Fields - Tenor Saxophones Freddy Roulette - Steel Guitar Bobby Little - Drums This is a ripper and quite hard to get. A little blurb from a review: 1964-1967 output by the guitarist that was largely done for the tiny Cuca logo of Sauk City, WI. The normally tight-lipped Hooker proves that he could sing on this romping version of "Swear to Tell the Truth," while A.C. Reed, Little Tommy, Frank Clark, and Muddy Waters, Jr. help out behind the mike elsewhere. A pair of live cuts from 1968 find Hooker stretching out in amazing fashion.

Yeah, well don't we agree on three? The same goes your way! I've just finished the second LP of this album and I wouldn't dare recommend this to anyone... It reminds me of when I first heard Idiot Wind, the first Bootleg Series version. For some reason I felt embarrassed, like I didn't need to hear it or something like that. This one is very personal and heavy album. On LP, it sounds great and it also comes with the enclosed CD, which I haven't played yet. That's all I can and going to say
Guest Muon Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 I have been wondering who does that sound track for Underbelly Razor, Adele! I have to get her album now, that song is awesome. Adele is an awesome singer.

I'm also delighted that Warren Ellis from the Dirty Three guests on at least one of the songs too with his magical work on the violin. I'm not quite sure who this Josh T P reminds me of, traces of Townes Van Zandt perhaps.

Soundfan, I ordered mine last night from www.rise-music.co.uk where they are also doing a preorder on a limited release 400 copies of a live The King Is Dead also. I use Rise all the time from aus and can't fault them. Was my local store when I lived in Bristol.
