The excellent and amusing UK based Hi Fi Wigwam has just been shut down by James the owner.

Apparently the stress of running it just got too much for him. Also some concern about Google controls and libel.

It should make us appreciate the hard work of the crew who keep StereoNET running.

Perhaps we could welcome some the Wigwamers members here.

There are certainly some funny buggers amongst them.

Bummer--You're correct--I just paid the Rego to place ads--managed to sell a couple of Items luckily-yes it made this place look like a Vicarage Tea party-Ha!

Sad in a way though had a lot of posters and some interesting comments and "discussions" especially the " Who needs a Good C**K punching Forum"

It's back up again, must have had a change of heart (or ownership)

Just a temporary thing by the owner for guys to swap contacts and conclude the classified deals I think. The owner is considering his plan and talking to his mods.

I do enjoy wigwam and miss the DIY section especially.

Change of heart, Mondie. Look at post 491, on page 33 in that Pinkfish Media thread.

I've never been on hi fi wigwam, what's so special? I have a pinkfish a/c but rarely use it...

Wigwam had a bit of an anything goes feel, lots of swearing, abuse etc that inevitably flows into slander followed by threats, lawyers and so it goes. l did enjoy the forum for an occasional read because of the wry english humour mainly.

I used to visit the 'wam every so often.

Some DIY Tannoy experts hang out there which has been my main are of interest lately.

It was also refreshingly politically incorrect and a place for posting all sorts of humorous things.

Certainly some people crossed the line in the Pub Car Park section which I see has now been closed to the general public.

One of the classics was a discussion about how to fix the country and one proposed solution was NO WELFARE FOR CU*#S!
