Tony M Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 G'day all I've seen some stands on ebay that are exactly what I've been looking for: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250847524533&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:AU:1123 But, of course, pick up only! I've messaged the seller re "Pack and send", but as another option, I was wondering if anyone nearby would pick them up for me and organize shipping to Hahndorf? I could pay the courier company with credit card by phone (done that before). Really, I should BIN and worry about getting them here afterwards. Cheers Tony
mondie Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Yes mate BIN right now and l am sure something can be worked out. They look the part and the price is right. l will be able to work something out for you if no SNA'er steps forward.
pete_mac Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Really, I should BIN and worry about getting them here afterwards. That's what I'd be doing. You will probably find that the seller won't mind storing them for a little while until you organise a pick-up, provided that you pay ASAP for the item. Those stands would look GREAT with your Gales (no pressure! hehe  )
Full Range Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 If it was in Brisbane I would have done it for you FR
Tony M Posted July 2, 2011 Author Posted July 2, 2011 Hi Tony,I can pick them up for you Fantastic - thanks Minty. I note the fact that the welds look a bit ordinary, the top plate is actually too deep for the Gales and the spikes are welded rather than adjustable. But I've bought them anyway because I can revamp them myself to be exactly what i want with an angle grinder etc:confused:. Might cut off the spikes, drill the baseplate and pop on some adjustable spikes for starters....... It's just soooo hard to find much in the way of stands of this type these days and building from scratch would be much more challenging. Anyway, I'll get the details and PM you and we can take it from there. Cheers Tony

Tony M Posted July 5, 2011 Author Posted July 5, 2011 Wow, look at what's been happening while I've been away from a computer all day and most of the evening! Minty, you're just too efficient - I can't keep up! Thanks for the PM's with the pics of the packaging - I'm impressed but it looks altogether too good for speaker stands. Have replied via PM...... Cheers Tony
Spearmint Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Minty, you're just too efficient - I can't keep up! Cheers Tony Haha, you know the old saying... "it doesn't take me all day to do a days work" (usually two days in my case, or is that three? There you go that memory problem again CRAFT disease (Can't Remember A Flamin' Thing) if I recall) We'll wait until the goods are safety in your hands before we get too excited about the packaging... our storeman is older than me, he might have forgotten to put anything in the box that remotely look like speaker stands.
