Souwalker Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Hi I have an older av receiver and a pair of Jamo bookshelfs used in the kitchen area. The receiver has a setting for 4 and 8 ohms settings for speakers. My Jamo is 6 ohms and I just noticed I had the receiver set at 4 ohms for my 6 ohms bookshelf. I have got this wrong? Should I set the receiver to 8 ohms instead? Rgds Pat
pete_mac Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 The 4 ohms setting is the way to go. IMHO it's better that the receiver is connected to a higher impedance speaker than expected, rather than a lower impedance speaker (if that makes sense).
