dthompson Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 (edited) Hi everyone: Whatmore and I crossed paths at Cheekyboy's mid week! It was a small GTG spontaneously arranged! And can I say, what a ripper it was! Cheekyboy has this ripper turntable which is a notch up from his Garrard which is a ripper. It sounds awsome! The sound is rich, unbelievably clear and clean and I reckon a notch (or two??) better than his Garrard with the 12 inch Jelco arm! ....if that is possible? It is simply stunning sound and I was a bit gobsmacked really! What did you reckon Whatmore? Thanks Keith. REgards: Dave T Edited June 30, 2011 by dthompson
cheekyboy Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Thanks for the kind words Dave, it was good to have you around mate and good to finally catch up with Trevor [Whatmore] in person. I like the SME too, but I still miss the Garrard.........I know it's gone to a good home though and not that far away that I can't visit when I want to. Just don't tell Vince I'm using a belt drive deck now, okay! Cheers, Keith
Volunteer sir sanders zingmore Posted June 30, 2011 Volunteer Posted June 30, 2011 Yes thanks to Keith for having me over for a few mid week tunes (and mid-morning ales). Great to put faces to names as well I can't compare the SME with the Garrard as I haven't heard that latter but I was mightily impressed by the whole setup. I'm a little bit in awe of people like Keith who are able to not only build their own speakers but also make them sound so good. I've heard many systems at much higher dollar value that would have hung their heads in shame in comparison. It was also great to just listen to music and yak. Very little popping test tracks on and off and lots of just enjoying the music. thanks again Keith and when my kids are back at school you'll have to make the trip over the Westgate and have a listen to the zingalis
cheekyboy Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Thanks Trevor, I'm looking forward very much to making that trip over the Westgate to listen to those gorgeous Zingali speakers. Glad you enjoyed the day too and they were Winter Ales [thanks Dave] we had, so I figure that makes it okay. Cheers, Keith
Volunteer sir sanders zingmore Posted July 1, 2011 Volunteer Posted July 1, 2011 oops! We seem to have forgotten the first commandment of GTGs.... Sorry
