Dr Good Vibe Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Just got a collection of old Red house record art to put up and scanned a couple of 1950's inner sleeve shots jazz and blues. got some really great art from a young guy at Bendigo art collage who's doing amazing work. What you guy's doing
Jake Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Just renting for a few months till we buy a new house, so nothing at the moment. But I do plan on getting some classic posters/album covers on the wall. Not yet decided. Maybe this thread will have some good ideas! I always recall Cheekyboy has music related posters behind his stereo. (from the pics I have seen)
Batty Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 (edited) Nothing arty going on around the stereo, but a poster of Elvis on the wall opposite. Forgot the clock made from a 12" picture disk of Marillion's Kayleigh. Edited June 29, 2011 by Batty
Gutty Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 (edited) TT on one end of my TV unit, ukulele signed by Slash on the opposite end. In the strings of the ukulele I have a guitar pick from Powderfinger's last Wollongong concert and a Ben Harper guitar tone bar sitting below it. If/when I get my own HT/music room I have a limited edition Ben Harper skate board deck and some rare coloured vinyl of some of my all time favourite albums I'd like to frame and hang up. colinm1 Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 i got a framed photo of neils pedersen when he was in perth
Warren M. Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 (edited) My turntable and phono preamp sit on a two-tier turntable shelf on the wall, with an oil painting of a quiet estuary section of Sydney Harbour at sunset, directly over it. Most of the rest of my hi fi is barely visible in a two shelf wooden furniture piece, and looks much more furniture than hi-fi. While I'm very proud of my hi-fi components, I'm much more interested in how they sound than how they look. With that in mind, I have changed my method of isolation a number of times. Currently I am making 8" long rolls of Mass Loaded Vinyl and Closed Cell Polypropylene Foam, which sit in pairs or threes under each piece of hi-fi, and, from my listening, seem to completely isolate each hi-fi component from the furniture piece and each other. wolster Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Good Doctor, this thread that you started is somewhat lacking without pics of your forementioned artwork. I'm sure that there are many of us eager to view ;-)
metal beat Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Reach the beach painting by my wife and sister in law 20 odd years ago
wolster Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Now that's better. Love that painting, TT. I wonder about the meaning of the handcuffs. Escaping from a prison ship? From the confines of the city? BTW, your turntables look as awesome as ever and I notice that the King is still a strong favourite. Cheers wolster
wolster Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 On one side of our system is my wall LP holder: and on the other side are some city pencil drawings:
wolster Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 One l knocked up earlier Sensational Mondie. But I keep looking at that lovely TT instead of the painting ;-)

Not sure about the true meaning, but always luved the album cover, so begged them to paint it sans the name of the album. The king is not the king without reason I have this album on the opposite wall, but with the picture taking the whole canvas Edited June 29, 2011 by turntable
Grumpy Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 I have a small Beatles canvas and a John Lennon canvas, A Tardis and the big Gramaphone print on the front wall

Catostylus Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 A Tardis .. Good idea. You should be able to store thousands of LPs in that.
cheekyboy Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Hi Doc, I don't know if what I have is art, but I've tried to stick with a music theme in my front room and not necessarily revolving around a turntable either. Jake mentioned it earlier so here are a few pics of my back wall around my front room system. And a few trinkets in the equipment cabinet too that I'll continue to add to............... Cheers, Keith
Dr Good Vibe Posted June 30, 2011 Author Posted June 30, 2011 All good keith, looks very nice indeed.
Hergest Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 In the study system which is the snug one i've got a Gerald Coulson print as he did the cover to Mike Oldfield's Five Miles Out lp and this is the closest i can get to that, plus a poster from the US release of Van Morrison's Common One and a promo print of Genesis' Duke lp.
cheekyboy Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Keith. Very nice. Music is art:love Thanks mate, I have at least one tribute to The King:thumb:
Jake Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Thanks mate, I have at least one tribute to The King:thumb: Didn't peg you as a Michael Jackson fan Keith...
cheekyboy Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Didn't peg you as a Michael Jackson fan Keith... Ah, I got into a bit of strife over some comments I made a couple of years ago now when he 'shuffled off'............I'm not going there again mate! Suffice to say, I have nothing of his and if I find anything I'll be sure to get rid of it!
