yeah i think so, but after opening all three copies i ordered and finding all 3 skip at the same spot im kinda thinking they have a pressing issue... emails gone back to the US so lets hope their after sales service is good :P

Wow on a side note i ordered alicia keys unplugged on vinyl and it is superb, powerful voice superb piano playing

Emotional i had shivers on many tracks, something i would say 'do yourself a favour' come cd vinyl or sacd if you like any of her music, she even has a couple of covers which are sublime ... wild horses got a workout 4 times ....

Best album ive bought for a long time.

Maybe great on vinyl, but I wouldn't bother too much on Compact Disc with James Blunt. I bought the CD and found it lifeless and somewhat compressed :) Quite dissapointing actually.

Dealing in the Reference Discs lately I decided to give the Opus Showcase (2005) a whirl. Its a hybrid SACD and has replaced my favorite test disc of Sheffield Labs (CD103). This CD has a great range of "musical" tracks from various genres and I just find it quite pleasing to listen to (entertaining). +1 into the cupboard for safekeeping, +1 into the CD player to use frequently :P

Had a vinyl meet in Brisbane over the weekend and found a few mint/sealed MFSL albums Blondie , 2 supertramp albums pat benetar and Spandau ballet, have spun the Blondie and one supertramp and they really are a step above a standard pressings.... 5MFSL for less than 150... :yahoo:

My James blunt issue was an incorrect pressure guage that was reading about 1gram light and varied from there... cheap chinese digital crud ;) ..

mondie - The tool album is not to bad, to many long intro's and odd music through out it and not enough of the good stuff. i like it and went and bought an original after i listend to a burnt copy. but for $20 that i paid it was worth it for the cover alone.

el_hefty - dont know the name of the Joss album, it's her second one not the soul sessions wich im still meaning to get my hands on.

George Benson is pretty funky and yeah i have some odd music in my collection.

mind body and soul im guessing, its been pretty much written by her and elvis costello, a real artist and one of my favourites

Just got James Blunts album and love it. His music appealed because of the smart lyrics and emotion but l was really suprised at how good it is musically too. Track 7 is a deifnite standout, great album

Gav, you've just triggered a memory....................I've got Pavlov's Dog here somewhere........At the sound of the bell I think................must dig it out.

Currently spinning lots of my old stuff now that I've got that warm valve sound happening.

Andreas Vollenweider - White winds (Seekers Journey) and Down to the Moon

Madonna's - Something to Remember

Love those monoblocs.

By the way what is the name of that new Prodigy album you are talking about in another post.

Gav - The Prodigy album is "Always outnumbered, never outgunned". It died a quick death after the first single.

After talking about listening to Genesis ( The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway ) on old Vynl, I was in the local music disspencer today and dicided to check out the Genesis section and low and behold there it was Genesis ( The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway ) so I just had to have it, Some really great memories & music for me in this one.

Seriously If any one ever gets the chance have a listen to some of this Double Album or at least if you can down load this song( The Carpet Crawlers ) and give it a listen very musical.

Also just in case you dont know Phill Collins & Peter Gabreil were in Genesis.

Really enjoying Spiritchaser.

Still trying to replace the best 12" 45rpm single .

"Running up the hill"-Kate bush-a woofer buster if any.

Amazing.

My favourite 45rpm job was Real Life's - "Master Mix"............a 12" with 5 of their best songs re-mastered.

Superlative stuff.

So whats Tool's new album like Digital, l am tempted to get it? [/b]

The 1st song "Vicarious" and 5th song "The Pot" are the standouts on the album.

There are 2 filler sounds which are rubbish but the rest are excellent.

I actually use "The Pot" in testing speakers at the moment. To see how they go at playing the very low volume voice (compared to the main voice/music) at the very start of the song. I don't know the technical reason why but some speakers seem not to pick it up aswell as others.

Dritz,

Sounds like Tool is worth a listen, bring it along when you make it down for a session sometime

Its not a balls out rock and roll sort of sound like audioslave, yet not many bands are.

Awesome thread this - great reading ;)

CDs I've had on so far this weekend:-

REM - Automatic for the people (easily their best, big on atmosphere and instumentation)

Diana Krall - The Girl in the other room

Kraftwerk - Minimum/Maximum (2 disc live set)

That one sure is from their golden period, love it. Document and Out of Time are also classics.

Anybody heard a new album by a New York guy by the name of Beirut? Heard a few songs on Triple J, it sounds great, he is only a teenager but has one hell of a voice. Buying that one as soon as l can find it.

What about Antony and the Johnsons, thats another group l have wondered about, any fans??
