Sure am struggling Daniel. The SHM-SACD'd are expensive. OK when they sound great, not so good when they don't. Seems like the Stones Sticky Fingers was not recorded well from the start :0/

Half the tracks are fine, the other half really could have done with some judicious tweaking of the balance by the mastering engineer.

Rod Stewart - Gasoline Alley is another one. Strats poorly, then appears to gradually improve, on my system anyway. T.Rex - Electric Warrior and The Who - Who's Next sound very nice indeed, from start to finish

Seems like the Stones Sticky Fingers was not recorded well from the start :0/ Hope your buying them from HMV.co.jp, not too bad there once the multi-buy and rebates kick in, about $50 a disc landed. And yes, Stones are not audiophile on Vinyl, CD or SACD. SACD is about as good as you'll get, though you might enjoy original mono pressings. Daniel.
Ahh- Schnoo Schnoo Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 And I thought this was about shaving SACDs..humph! I'm not meaning to offend, I just must be missing something here?
