petng Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Just bought this from Dick smith for $50. http://dicksmith.com.au/product/GH5935/dgtec-high-definition-set-top-box-dg-hd0810 When i got home i found out that i can plug a Hard drive or USB to record programs. WOW! Highly recommended to anyone who doesnt want to spend $$$$ on a Tivo
Saxon Hall Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 It is a very good price however it is not comparable to a Tivo. It only has one tuner whereas the Tivo has 2 tuners which means it is far more versatile. Anyway enjoy your new purchase.
mnSNA Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Looks pretty cool, so you can record and transfer to computer for storage?
arrow224 Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Better is the DGTEC that Dick Smith sell. It has a sort-of twin tuner system. Only a single tuner, but can do two programs. However, the other program must be from the same channel family eg, watching ABC1, you can record ABC2/ABC3/ABC News24; watching 7mate, you can record 7 or 7two. At the moment, it is the same price of $50: http://dicksmith.com.au/product/GH5935/dgtec-high-definition-set-top-box-dg-hd0810

petng Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 Ys you can. I just plug in an external hard drive into it. For 70 dollars ou can buy a 1 TB hard drive. The unit has a programme guide that lets you select programs with a click of a button to record. No need to type in times and channels. Looks pretty cool, so you can record and transfer to computer for storage?
Batty Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Thanks for the heads up, this is exactly what we've been looking for, just went out and bought one. WAF is very high.
