cleanup Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 I have a creek passive to match - is the destiny int pre passive?
houdinifangs Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Here's Rantan's ad I'm 99% sure you can bypass the pre and use it as a power amp. The Destiny can be purchased as just a power amp as well. I can personally vouch for this amp and seller.
houdinifangs Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I've auditioned this one at CAV with PMC speakers - amazing! http://www.carltonaudiovisual.com.au/?q=node/view/740 And the product site http://www.creekaudio.com/products/destiny2_amp.php "The AV Direct input separates the pre-amp and power amplifier and passes the signal directly to the power amp, without the volume control in circuit"
Chill3 Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 See below - not only can you use power amp direct - but you have passive and active options in the pre amp section 5 star ratings in every review for this baby ! (PS: consult with my self sternly every day not to buy this - I have a very good amp in my MF A1 and do not need this - but still ) "The AV Direct input separates the pre-amp and power amplifier and passes the signal directly to the power amp, without the volume control in circuit. This is especially useful if the amp is used in both a combined 5.1 front channel and hi-fi system with one pair of speakers. The front panel also offers selectable active or passive pre-amp options with 3 gain settings in active mode, adjustable with a 3-way slider switch, located on the bottom of the case."
