Have now also joined your group. Unfortunately, I can only ever fold sporadically, since my HP Z620 is right next to the bed, and I'd hate to sleep in a storm. Such a graphics workstation simply wasn't designed for bedroom use, but for high data throughput.

Whether I can stand the noise long enough to show up in the statistics, however, I can't say at this time, I consider it an experiment.

It is a great pity that no one is participating in this group anymore, it is continuously slipping down the ranking.

I had, and I still don't understand how, managed to gain two places in the last week after the group had dropped from 1078th to 1198th place, it seemed like all the other groups had taken a break for us, but since then this group has dropped another 7 places to now 1103rd place.

I will be looking for another group to join unless someone joins or rejoins here in the next 5 days, I'll do this because there is no joy in not being able to make progress and because I like to be a member of an active community. That is the only thing I want, or I am asking for.

This is a great project to participate in, please consider to be part of it! The only thing you can win is the feeling to do something right. If you want to, or need to show such to others, you can print out a document that is stating the points you contributed, more you can't get here. But hey, does everything we do have to pay off in dollars and cents? Really?

I must have missed this way back when.  I've got a laptop I don't really use much anymore, I'll set it up on the weekend.

Hello Cafad, and thank you for joining in, it would be gratifying if more users took the opportunity to join in here.
We often spend a lot of money just for a perceived minimally better sound, here you can get a lot of good feel with little money, isn't that a good trade-off too? And in addition, you actually do really something good.

I'm getting old and make too many mistakes. ;-)

It wasn't from 1078th to 1198th, it was from 1078th to 1098th before I gained those, now lost again, two ranks.

I should use my glasses more often. 😉

"How do you stop the downfall and how do you resuscitate this project?" That was the question I asked myself and at the same time made it my task. That is why I wrote the above call for help.
It honors you very much to fill this project, which, objectively seen, demands little from the individual, (again) with life.
As it looks, the fall seems to have been at least slowed down, are you also curious if we will succeed in reversing the trend?

So it is I who must thank you, because only distributed on several shoulders such a project can achieve something. If you had not joined the project (again), it would continue to starve, so that not me, but only the group of participants is to be thanked.

I myself, in the absence of air conditioning, can only ever fold along in the cold season or during periods of bad weather, that is, until it gets too warm here in the European spring and then again starting in the fall. Well, or until my computer dies. In the meantime, my little calculating monster is 12 years old, and I can no longer afford a comparable new one, since I as a bedridden sick nursing case for 8 years now, living in a nursing home, have used up my reserves, I am nowadays a welfare recipient on the charity drip of the state. Although, if I'm lucky, my sister could possibly sponsor me in purchasing replacements.

Well if you're doing what you can in your situation Michael I don't see how the rest of us can do any less.

My laptop is about 5 years old and should be good for a few years yet so I'm leaving it set on medium power and just watching the temperature.  I'll drop the folding down if a heatwave is coming but apart from that the comp should handle the load just fine.   I also have another laptop that is sitting in a drawer and may (or may not) be operational.  I guess I could haul that out and test it, I might be able to do even more folding.  The old HP may not last long though, it's over 13 and has had quite a life.  Still if it can help out a little before it goes then why not?

Keep on keeping on mate, we'll see if we can assist in giving your chosen project a bit of a kick along.

Hi everyone

Well I started with a laptop - that did not do that much.

That I got a nice PC with a graphics card - that was doing well.

Then I had some computer issues and I had to a lot of stuff to get back to normal  and I have to confess about that.

Now I am back.

@Cafad thanks for doing the laptop thing, yes temperatures should be checked.

We are still on ranking 1105, hopefully we will move up the ranks.

That's a whole lot of zeros.

Nice folding everybody!

Since today, the counter runs backwards!
Here can be seen, very nicely, to what groups are capable if they act together as a community.
And if I see this correctly, then it seems that a lot of computing power has been added to the community.
Many thanks to all involved!
