Most people here don’t know Justin Townes Earle

But a lot know Jason Isbell who plays a killer solo in this live version of Harlem River Blues

You don’t have to like country music to appreciate how good Justin was or what a loss his young life is to American music

He'll be much missed. I'm sure he'll be one of those whose reputation only grows after an unfortunate premature death,  like Nick Drake or Jeff Buckley etc

I was fortunate enough to see him perform a few times.

This is worth a listen, for fans or those wondering who this JTE is. Simply two hours of great music and background from Henry Wagons.

Listened last night great tunes and insight from Wagons.

It is sad when any musician dies but JTE always had a chip on his shoulder about people older than he was,  which is a shame because he had a talent and left this world far too soon.

Now he can RIP untroubled by his thoughts.

He did always seem to wear the mantel of both his father and his namesake heavily. The anxiety of influence can be cruel. Brahms took 21 years to write his first symphony, purportedly due to the shadow cast by Beethoven.

a sad loss.
