Gear4Music Desk Clamp Monitor Speaker Stands (product page)

  • Top Speaker Plate: 220mm x 180mm
  • Height Adjustment: 235mm - 280mm
  • Tilt Angle: +/- 10 degrees
  • Clamp Width: 1mm - 50mm (i.e., table thickness)
  • Weight: 1.4kg
  • Maximum Load: 100kg (depending on quality of desk)

These are pretty much brand new and have been sitting in their box (see the last photo for when they were shipped: May)

I tried them for an arvo and realised they weren't quite right for me:

  • My desk is too narrow (100cm), so my 27" screen impeded their path — Plus my desk has the frames right near the edges so I'm restricted in where I can move the clamps around the table edges
  • My speakers are a bit too small (12.5cm x 19.5cm) for the plate surface — To have a clear line of site w/r/t the 27" screen, I had to shift my speakers towards the outer part of the plate surface, which made the plates tilt slightly (on the horizontal axis) towards the outer sides

I think these would be great for

  • Medium-to-large speakers, e.g., JBL 305s
  • A wide desk
  • One caveat: YMMV with the rubber mats, they seem either a couple of mm too small to fully overlap the metal plate, or I was too scared to stretch them out :) — turning the rubber mats upside down does the trick, however!

? Heads up that I'm moving from Bondi to Manly this week on Thursday
