I’m at approximately 250 records now and still super happy with it.

If the weather is warm, back to back cleaning can be a pain because the machine will run cooling cycles which extends cleaning time. I find this is only a problem when playing multiple 12 inch records at a time or cleaning a small pile of records for a friend.

but otherwise I love the fact that I place the record in the machine, hit a button, walk away and come back to a thoroughly clean and dried record.

Almost at 700 cleans with my machine and its the best money i have spent so far on audio equipment period.

Customers are extremely satisfied. Employees who use it are also impressed with its user friendly interface and autonomy.

Would recommend to the novice collector or massive record retailer.

Thanks so much Geoff@HeyNow Hi-Fi for supplying this machine.

Wondering if any degritter owners make their own distiller water? ?

Using machine like this?

I thought about it and agree with Ryan the economics don't work out.  I buy a couple of litres for $1.80 and when you take the cost of the machine, electricity and machine maintenance I thought......nope.

I got my degritter last week and looking around for distilled water.

Interestingly I found the so-called distilled water in supermarket contains some sodium which I dont think it is suitable.

I ended up buying pure drinking water where the nutrition information stated no traces of electrolytes.

Just a quick update on my Degritter.  I am at 521 runs and still extremely happy with this unit.  Still remains so easy to use.  I'd be lucky to need to clean my stylus once every three months or so these days!

Do you clean with degritter everytime before playing? 🤣

I still need to clean my stylus on and off.

Typically yes - is that OTT? :)  Although if it has already been on a heavy cycle then I will only use a medium cycle.  Only exception is if I play the same record within a fortnight.

After a patient 3 week wait my Degritters finally arrived. Out of the box it feels really solid and extremely well built. Been cleaning a bunch of records but wont know the results until I next fire up the system but am so far very happy with its ease of use.

Hi all, I've been researching Ultrasonic record cleaners or for that matter all record cleaners, the Degritter has caught my eye but the price keeps whipping me back, is there many owners of the Degritter here and is this device worth the money, I just want one that works properly and is reliable, I love my LPs and want them all sounding the best they can, wish it was $2,000 cheaper, anyway any help with this would be appreciated

I am not a Degritter owner but I can certainly say they are worth owning. If you have a large collection of records (and Discogs tells you its worth a small fortune), then I wouldn't worry about the cost. There is a lot to be said for the automation of these machines - you cant put a price on time.

Pretty happy with mine but dont think id spend that kind of money again. Like audio I reckon there's a law of diminishing returns with stuff like this as although it does seem to work pretty well I wouldn't say it cleans 2x better than my el chepo ultrasonic machine I had previously (it is however way more convenient). There's also the issue of it constantly kicking into cooling mode if cleaning more than a few records on a heavy cycle on a warmish day which can add 10's of mins. to the clean as the unit stops and tries to cool the water down. A bigger water bath would have greatly assisted this IMO.

That said there is a new software release that I need to perform which may help in that area.

Thanks Doug, I bit the bullet and got one, the new Mark2 and cleaning my very first LP as I'm replying to this, seems like a high quality component, very well built and very pleasing on the eye to look at, anyway early days and any tricks and tips would be great, this ritual of us Vinyl lovers is a cool thing, I love it

Been loving the results and the way my Degritter has been going about its's business of cleaning LP's, what a fantastic bit of gear it is and well worth the money BUT only if you truly Dig your LPs!!

I also am totally delighted with the Degritter.

As The Bluesman above says " . . . a fantastic bit of gear . . . if you truly DIG your LPs."

Over the decades, my vinyl collection has been through so many different cleaning regimens, and finally I have a result that I am truly happy with.

I change the water every 25 washes, and change the filter every 50.

For me, the Degritter cleans the groove like nothing else, and is a dream come true.

Since using the Degritter I've noticed I haven't even bothered using the record cleaning brush or cleaning the needle, top bit of no fuss gear and a worthy investment

I've had two Degritters. Overall I'm happy with it; it does a great job cleaning records. The first one I had started having some weird shutdown issues mid-clean, and the folks at Degritter HQ support were excellent, ultimately sending me a new replacement. However, the replacement seems to make a lot more noise than the one I originally had. I'm unsure which is the 'normal'. Can anyone offer any comment about whether the noise in this video sound loud compared to theirs? (Especially when the timer is at 4:25, 4:05, and 4:00)

Definitely something's not right. Sounds like a internal vibration of some sort, perhaps a wire vibrating against the pump/transducer or a loose fitting somewhere.

It's quite possible that the pump in your Degritter is having a little difficulty dealing with all the excessive foaming that's visible in your video. This is because way too much cleaning solution is being used.

CEO Taniel Põld says that if you see excessive foaming you need to tone down on the amount of additive and replace the solution in the tank with pure water and within a few washing cycles the machine should be back to normal.

The sounds in your video are pretty much identical to the sound my machine makes.

So, if you're using Degritter's cleaning solution, most suggestions are to use only 1 ml per tank.

This may be true. Strangely, I've always used around 1ml of fluid after initially trying more when I first got one. I've been in touch with Degritter support, and they've been very responsive and helpful so far. Will see where I end up. I believe there's something more than fluid causing the harsh sounds when it's pumping water; I also didn't get this level of noise with my first unit, and this replacement one has sounded like this since arrival. Once I go through all the options, I'll see where I'm at, and try to report back.

Thought I’d give an update. I reached out to Degritter support, and they were great. They ended up shipping a replacement out to me and having me send the one I had back. It arrived today, and sounds much better during the clean cycle. Stellar support, and a happy customer.

Sounds like all of you are happy with it,  it does look impressive, but unfortunately I  cannot see the value of $$$$ in it, way too expensive/overpriced for me.
