The Sennheiser RS line should suit. Readily available too from Bricks & Mortar stores.

The main consideration may be how it sits on his head. Some are "on ear" and possibly more annoying, and some are "around ear", which he may prefer. And if he wears glasses like me, on ear is a no go. Presses your ear into the frame and eventually hurts.

Darren,

I have a set of wireless headphones you can have.  Senn RS160 (I think but could be 120).  I purchased them on SNA 3 or 4 years back and never opened them.  Cover post and they are yours for your son.

The Sennheiser RS 165 is what my partner uses, & when I have tried them they are quite comfortable & allow analog or digital connections to your TV (a lot of wireless headphones only have digital inputs). Also easy to use, press one button...

I have 3 different Bluetooth headphones and one  JBL earphones and so far the best all round unit has been from K Mart

I use them for TV listening every evening when Mrs FR goes to bed early
