mackinnonrob Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 I got the chance to have a good listen to the MKIII version of the I66 speakers at the recent Stereonet Hi Fi show in Melbourne and as a result I sent my speakers VAF i66's back to their birthplace for the full treatment and upgrade to 'se' status. I am picking them up this Monday and can't wait!!! I will post my thoughts when they arrive and I set them up for anyone who is interested. I can say already that Simon has been fantastic to deal with and has been very accommodating with me and last minute changes. I can highly recommended the service 5

mackinnonrob Posted February 12, 2020 Author Posted February 12, 2020 I plugged in the speakers last night after putting them into position. I will continue to play around with positioning as I go but have them about 2.0m apart and 1.0m off the side wall and rear wall. I couldn't listen too loudly so as not to disturb others and I put on Ryan Adams 'Heartbreaker'. Normally when I am trying out something different in my system I like to try lots of different music but I was enjoying it so much I listened to the whole album. I found a greater sense of space between the instruments which allowed me to hear more details in the music and Ryan Adam's phrasing tone was so much more noticeable and drew me more into the songs which is what hi fi is all about for me 7
