@April Snow many thanks for correcting my stuff up a few weeks ago in purchasing a shortened reissue and terrible pressing of 1999.  Today I replaced it with your recommendation with far superior sq and more tracks and coloured vinyl to boot! thanks.

It was not a stuff up, one can never have too much Prince & you have an album I do not have anyway - but glad you treated yourself to this full version and love it. Interesting to know it is better SQ too ?

I have this in my big 10 LP boxed set, but should buy the stand alone release myself, only because the boxed set is heavy and it would be easier to have this sitting on the shelf to play it.

I had never heard of D.D. Dumbo before. I liked the nice colour splatter, looked him up and discovered that his music is really cool and gave me a valid reason to buy this record. He’s home grown too.

@Dilettanteque got me into these boys last year and I just fell in love with their sound and that voice, immediately.

I've picked up a few albums on vinyl since, not all, but including Finn's solo album (also excellent!).

This one is also great.

This is the first picture disc I have seen for a Various Artists collection (a guilty pleasure of mine). Purchased second hand from Air Raid Records.  Passed through the URCM, still some crackle on early tracks but later tracks play well. Very enjoyable memory inducer.

I had the non picture disc but this got a flogging at my 17th birthday party. Ahh, year 12 memories flooding back. Not sure what happened to it.

On to some Big Pig in white vinyl.

As I was about to post my 11 year old son saw @metal beat post and commented very favourably on the magnificent orange and yellow vinyl.  He then quickly passed up and down the posts and said “Hey, it’s like SnapChat for HiFi nerds”. It’s nice to be up with technology.

That's on high rotation at my place. Love it.

Something new, eclectic songs from a soundtrack:

Awesome looking LP and perfect packaging - my favourite TV series too. I have the soundtrack ripped from CD but not sure I am willing to spend the $$$ on the vinyl - but it is a killer (literally) TV series.

As to sonic quality and coloured vinyl this album is proof that you can have truly great sq with beautiful coloured vinyl (and high quality album cover - but vinyl can still do with a URCM clean) my favourite album from this band

Pink Floyd, Division Bell

This vinyl competes with my 5.1 FLAC surround sound version.

Hi All,

Earlier today played Bjork, Biophilia, a replacement for a badly scratched LP received last week.

Awesome looking

I have a very similar looking one, by Clowns. Aussie punk group. Like the one you commented on, it’s meant to look like blood I suppose. The only difference is the splatter pattern.

I bought that recently and played it the other day!

I’m a bit disappointed with it’s condition though. It was “new” but the platter has worn through the cardboard sleeve and outer cover. Might take it back but nearest JB (who I bought it from) is 2.5 hours away. I bought it online. Won’t be doing that anymore. A few of the records I bought in that lot were slightly damaged.

Hi @Esoterica

The Bjork album was from JB, I had to take back the original as it had a scratch from one side to the other, and scuffed++ to boot, my JB is only 45 minutes, but insisted on taking out each LP to check before purchase, which used to be common practice in the 60s and 70s and no shrink wrap. Most LP also had a proper inner sleeve, not just straight into a rough paper bag. I have gone through 200 MoFi inner sleeves this year to replace what /how the album arrived.

I also purchased Minus The Bear, Void in April when JB had a 2 for $40 sale and my copy is in excellent condition, bought it online also with about 20 other LPs, what you mention is usually caused by poor handling by the couriers, just tossing the boxes about and movement in transit, it probably is weakened in the cover as well by the cutout sections.

Good luck with the return

Cheers!

Out of 7 or 8 LPs from that order, besides the MTB record, one of the covers has a fairly badly creased corner, and there’s a few small creases overall. One record is warped too.

It’s probably the nature of vinyl, and I have literally no stores within an hour that sell vinyl, hence most bought is online, but it’s not worth the gamble. With this lot I’d have to arrange my nearest JB to have the ones that I want replaced.

Anyway ... #firstworldproblems

Hi @Esoterica

It's always a bit of a gamble when buying online, from condition of LP, to packaging and then handling, earlier this morning played Mark Lanegan, Blues Funeral on dark green vinyl

An Australian artist I really enjoy, but singing and recorded in the USA. A more stripped back sound but enjoyable and with some songs not on the studio album. A reasonably long meandering tooth story on record 2 but all good fun and am happy with my purchase.
