Janjuggler Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 Hi @KRSDarwin, On 07/02/2020 at 12:02 AM, KRSDarwin said: Hi @Janjuc ‘Beautiful looking purple vinyl and an artist with some great songs. But may I ask what the red sticky looking item is on the right side of the TT? Cheers The "red sticky item" is stylus cleaner. I read in the "Vinyl and Turntables" section about 2 years ago that they are made of the same stuff as the stylus gel cleaner you dab your stylus into to get any gunk off. Can be purchased off eBay for about $5 for 5 and you just place on your platter and gently drop the stylus onto it. Link to thread here: JJ 4 1

Candyflip Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 Such a terrific album, let down by a very average and seemingly careless mastering. This band and this record, deserve so much better. A real shame. 2
Candyflip Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 Much, *much* better! Night and day on the mastering to the above album. 3
Guzzista Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 Not sure if this qualifies for "coloured" vinyl! Actually a very good pressing, excellent reproduction....... 5

Janjuggler Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Hi All, One I played yesterday, John Grant, Live with The BBC Philharmonic, it looks a solid semi translucent grey, but when help up to the light has a slightly darker grey swirl. JJ 5
metal beat Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Who remembers the flexi disc - the one that used to come with Smash Hits mags in the 80's. about as thick as a piece of paper. this sounds OK actually - better than most picture discs 3
KRSDarwin Posted March 7, 2020 Author Posted March 7, 2020 (edited) Yep, how’s this for a flexidisk. From the Paul’s milk company with a very famous (at the time) Territory jingle to advertise their flavoured milk (who doesn’t think Paul’s Iced Coffee is the world’s best Iced Coffee). SQ pretty good all things considered. Edited March 7, 2020 by KRSDarwin 3
KRSDarwin Posted March 7, 2020 Author Posted March 7, 2020 This one isn’t cool (Casuarina Christmas) , but meets the criteria of colour if not strictly vinyl. It also has Morse code intermittently through the side so you could spell a word to unlock a code for a prize draw. 2
Candyflip Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Exit Calm - 'The Future Isn't What It Used To Be' A spin of this album most Friday nights.... love love love. And, the 7" that lives in the LP's outer sleeve. 5
