Misternavi Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 Item: Tass Surround Decoder Location: Glen Huntly, VIC Price: Donation to the Bushfire Relief Item Condition: Chassis is ok, hum when playing music Reason for selling: getting rid of on behalf of friend Payment Method: Pickup - or POST (I'm guessing around $30 which I will donate also) Extra Info: What is this? This will help. I bought this off classifieds a few years ago for a friend who now prefers using a simple sound bar. There is a hum/buzz when it is turned on, I'm guessing it might be a loose wire of a capacitor needs changing. I can't open this as it uses square screw bits. I was going to keep this as it is part of Melbourne audio history but I need to de clutter For a donation I think this is pretty good- even if you wanted to use the chassis for a DIY project. gibbo9000 Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 Great piece of audio memorabilia, and very good addition as a surround processor. Nothing too complicated on the circuit boards so hum shouldn't be hard to resolve for someone with a little electronics knowledge (and a square headed driver bit!) GLWTS
twister Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 I really don't like theatre audio very much. But, I use a TASS decoder in my system and it works really well adding two ambient rear channels and bass management to a two channel system. 1
