Extra Info: This Luxman 308 (rear panel marked as L-308) was originally purchased from Vintage Audio Repair (Netherlands) after an 'internal' restoration (caps, etc) and used in one of my systems until late 2019. It was then serviced, with anything needing replacement replaced, by John at Vintage Audio Repairs & Restorations (Brisbane). While John had the amp I did some work on the wooden case, bead-blasted the metal grill and repainted it. The photos will show the wooden case is not perfect - with a few corner blemishes, however it easily passes the '6ft test' and for its age looks great. Performance wise it is a cracker and is a classic example of what Luxman was doing in the early 70's before Alpine got involved. Photos are part of the description. The internal photos are from the first work done on the amp. Please note that the Luxman 'kettle cord input connection' (which was like a two pin Accuphase plug) has been changed to a standard IEC fitting for ease of sourcing power cords locally.

Specs from the Luxman data base:

Power output: 55 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo)

Frequency response: 10Hz to 50kHz

Total harmonic distortion: 0.03%

Damping factor: 40

Input sensitivity: 2.5mV (MM), 100mV (line)

Signal to noise ratio: 65dB (MM), 80dB (line)

Dimensions: 485 x 320 x 165mm

Weight: 12.5kg

Inputs: 2 x Phono (one with setting adjustment on rear panel), 2 x Aux, 1 x Tuner

Some info on the somewhat unique Linear Equaliser:

Linear Equalizer is a 5-step up or down "tilt" to the preset RIAA curve, rotating the 1kHz-centered frequency response up or down : more bass & less treble or more treble & less bass. There is too much compression and standardization today to justify a Linear Equalizer, but given the highly variable response curve of the recordings back then, this surely is uselful with original vinyl recordings.
