Praggers Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 You won't be Geoff, they are great sounding pieces of kit. 1
Guest Balangerer Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 .... well , that really depends on the source (s) that you use. If its a good source then you wont be disappointed. BTW , I'm a big Naim fan.
wen Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 if your disappointed, move it on, then try the next amp on your list 1
andrewinbriz Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 I mostly have separates, and one only integrated, a Nait XS2. I wouldn't have thought the 5si would be a disappointment. Hopefully, you'll report back with impressions. 1
Bill125812 Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 I’m a huge Naim fan now. Went from Luxman to a Naim unity star. Loving the Naim sound You won’t be disappointed 1
rantan Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 (edited) The 5si is a decent amp and sounds good with a variety of speakers, but I would avoid partnering it with any speakers with a bright or forward sound. The house sound is catchy, lively and agile. You would want a neutral sounding source as well, but with good system matching, the results are worth the effort and for a $1K outlay it is a good buy.
