mfforever Posted December 26, 2019 Author Posted December 26, 2019 Hi John …….. yes, this is indeed a great amp, but I'm trying not to go down the path of separates at this stage...…….. but thanks for the heads up. All the best.
betty boop Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 mfforever... I've had a a300 in mint condition, i ended up listing it on ebay and it sold for a song ! wiht bidding wars going on. clearly quite a sought after unit. the guy buying it told me outright he was buying to stick under the bed so clearly these have become to have some collectors appeal... a bit like the nuvista series. mainly because of the solid engineering and styling i suspect. to be perfectly honest though they are indeed awesome for money given era from. however i would strongly also consider the musical fidelity A5 integrated if wanting to go for one box rather than separates. these too are very sought after. but in my opinion a step above the a300 series in clarity, definition soundstage and such... the a5 series were superseded by a5.5, m6 and then m6si and such they were all just iterations in updates over the original so buy the very oldest for best price...
mfforever Posted December 27, 2019 Author Posted December 27, 2019 Thanks betty boop for the excellent advice ( and wisdom based on experience I would think ). One last question ……. would you rate the MF A3 CR separates over the A5 integrated ? All the best.
richard260 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 I have had booth as well the a5 is way better than the a300 1

All the best. hi mff, i actually went the full hog wth the quad stack of mf A3 / a3.2 gear, including very lovely a3.2 player, A3 DAC, A3cr pre power all utterly gorgeous gear. there is a lot of glam associated with this gear and some charm too. though yeah id go a5 integrated or later instead... and if want to go step above that the a5cr pre pwr or m6 pre pwr that again closely related to the predecessor are really quite excellent gear I dont think can go wrong with any of this gear to be honest
mfforever Posted December 27, 2019 Author Posted December 27, 2019 Thanks for your informed reply …… I'm now officially on the hunt ! All the best, Warren. 1
