JOrJay Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 (edited) Thanks Stereonet for the add. i would like to start by introducing my hifi separates. AmP Rotel A10 Speaker Dyns X18 Source Oppo 203 i would like to purchase a rca analogue for the system above. I’m tossing between Chord Clearway vs AQ Big Sur. I’m not sure which one is superior in terms of better bass/ dynamics and details/ clarity. Any thought? Thanks. Edited December 23, 2019 by JOrJay
wen Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 see if you can home audition them, i auditioned chord cobra 3 and chameleon, had to pay for both, got a refund for the chameleon, the cobra 3 suited the system better 1
Bunno77 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 I'm not the biggest Chord fan but would suggest considering Van Den Hull too. Like above try get a demo if you can 2
Irek Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 If you like Chord than Chord C-Line RCA is all you need with your system. Try to focus on other more important subjects, starting with room treatment. 2
Neo Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 (edited) Been using Audioquest in my system and absolutely love it. Big Sur will be the way to go compared to Chord cables. Audioquest cable construction and material choices as a comparison to Chord are better in my experience. I would audition both and would be surprised if you don’t settle with Audioquest as the cable of choice. Neo Edited December 24, 2019 by Neo 1 1
JOrJay Posted December 24, 2019 Author Posted December 24, 2019 Thank you so much everyone for the advice. Hoping to see any sales on cables on Boxing Day 1
blakey72 Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Van Den Hull as mentioned I find good. Audioquest I haven't tried but plan to when I have the dollars. I find these are excellent ($149usd) and run them between my Plinius CD and Amp. For budget, no fuss cables Redgum Audio Pipeline ($65A) are a great neutral cable that seems to match with anything and everything. I've tried QED and find them to be on the brighter side. Tara Labs are another that I like quite a bit. 1
