frednork Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 very nice amp, it seems expensive until you realise how much you need to spend to get a better amp which can do what this can. BTW great price GLWTS

BTW great price GLWTS Thanks - listening to it now that I've plugged it back into my system. It may be a toss up between selling this and the Prima Luna Dialogue HT as the 8 KT150's really heat up - and we've had a string of 40deg days. Honestly I wax & wane between these two.

How totally unusual a Hi-fi person who wax's and wanes about what gear to keep,. ... You could do what I have been doing lately, just keep it all and then sit there looking at it wondering why... GLWTS ... but at that price you shouldn't need it. cheers Terry Edited December 16, 2019 by TerryO 1 1
rantan Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 If it were me, I would be keeping the Vitus and selling the PL. So much more versatile and no tube neurosis. 2 1
Luc Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 Very nice AJ. Embrace the tube goodness, it's a mellow hobby when you do. A good friend of mine sold his Vitus a couple of years back. It was the absolute top of the range and you need a forklift to move it. He went over to the " neurosis " that the member above mention's and...he's now getting boutique amp manufacturers to build and assemble amps that he knows will match closely his system's specifications. And a bespoke tube amp built in Aus by one of the many wonderfully pointy headed ones here is an exciting thing. Yes we have Earle Weston(I've had a couple of his creations) but as I found out at this year's HiFi Show in Bleak City...there are a whole heap of these buggers out there. GLWTS and totally enjoy your tube journey. *BTW, I'm still waiting for a pic of the frontis piece from that piece of timber I sent you years ago...how did it go?)

Tube neurosis! ... there is no such thing. Just because I have at least sixteen extra spare KT150's and a likewise number of EL34's and over twenty different pairs of 12au7's for my PL amp is no indication of neurosis at all. cheers Terry 1

Should I now change my user name to the member above? We all have some type of neurosis, otherwise this forum would not exist as it does. Edited December 17, 2019 by rantan 1
