Silver Audiophile Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 My living room has 6.5m high cathedral ceils.. filled it with a 180" Elite Screen. 200" screen would have fitted had I relocated the wall lights. Using a Optoma UHD65 4K projector. Throw distance a bit over 6m. Light coloured walls, unshaded windows, makes this a less than perfect HT room. Only used at night. Mannequin heads have been relocated. 4
Silver Audiophile Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 (edited) Acoustics was another issue. Hard wood floors, large glass windows, squarish living room dimensions.. fortunately, a follow SN member had some nice used acoustic panels (disguised cleverly as art). I bought all 5 pieces from him for a very modest sum. The living area is one open area with the dining area, kitchen and stairs. I spread the panels out. Acoustics improved somewhat. Worked out great with my peach walls. Nobody suspects they're acoustic panels. Edited December 11, 2019 by Silver Audiophile

However, the picture is as sharp as, with excellent colour saturation. Prior to installing the 180" screen, I had it just projected onto the wall directly. Image was approx. 250" and image looked great too. The Optoma UHD65 projector is rated to 300" maximum projection. Below is a YouTube clip I uploaded a while back to demonstrate how clear the images are. Note, the poor room acoustics (echoey), was reduced somewhat with all the acoustic art panels fitted.
