frednork Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Thanks @evil c for opening up your house and hosting another excellent event which was handsomely catered for by @Tubularbells who put on a superb spread. Great to see some people I had met previously and meet some I hadnt. Fantastic weather! Great Day! 3
Guest jakeyb77 Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 What a great day. For all the unfair crap I give him, @evil c is always the ultimate host. It was a great day weather wise and company wise. A really good cast of SNA’s best. Was also really good to sit down with @Marc and have a few laughs. I and many other members really appreciated you coming along. As usual @Tubularbells killed it with the food. The brisket, pulled pork and cornbread and all the other delights were killer. Everyone was praising the chef, as well they should. Thanks also to Mrs Evil for the cakes. What a day!!
Guest jakeyb77 Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 PS if anyone has a 4K projector for sale @evil c is looking for one. Pick up is an unlikely option and must be delivered on a day when Mrs Evil is out.
todagt Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Thanks @evil c for pulling off another great Xmas gtg. Another huge thanks to @Tubularbells for another fantastic feast. Words cannot do the food justice so I'll just leave it there. I too appreciated @Marc coming along, and to all the other new faces I got to meet throughout the afternoon. Good laughs all round. 2
evil c Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Magic day ! And a very long one, Just finished cleaning up soon after last guests departed - ultimate foodfest courtesy of @Tubularbells . Amazing array of succulent meats and sides, complemented by some generous donations from many of the guests. Only managed to take a few snaps today, great to see a few new faces and a fair few "old"! This is what you get when you employ cheap help!, @jakeyb77 toppling over Doug's prized meats ,and almost sabotaging the whole day before it had even started! @Black Orangeshowing how not to pour a beer! Man on a mission with trusty helper in tow to clean up spillages! Yeah , nah dunno who he is! So yet another Xmas GTG has concluded for the year, and thanks to all for your contributions and making it such a brilliant afternoon! 4
Kaynin Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 (edited) Thanks again @evil c, it was awesome to be a part of a great day, and Melbourne really turned on perfect weather. The food was top notch quality, and it’s always nice to catch up with folks whilst meeting new ones! BTW evil, your system is sounding better than ever. Edited December 7, 2019 by Kaynin 2
tubularbells Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Thanks to everyone for the compliments on the food. Made cooking all day prior and staying up for most of the night cooking (barely ) worth it Was a great day and even got to relax a bit at the end so that was an unexpected bonus. Also cheers to @jakeyb77 & @darth vader for help with packing up as I was knackered by the end it. Ton of cleaning to do today as well! But a big thank you to @evil c for the invite and allowing me to provide for the hifi GTG of the year as well as the extra gifts that were most unexpected and Mrs. Evils delicious carrot cake that im enjoying with my coffee as I type this . (i'd love to grab the slaw recipie she was telling me about at some stage too!) 3 1

Mike13 Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Thanks for having us @evil c. Music upstairs, another set up downstairs, beer, wine and hifi people everywhere. Outstanding brisket and sausages @Tubularbells. Devil Grill - take note if you need catering. 1
RussB Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Thanks @evil c for a superb day and @Tubularbells for the incredible Texan grill spread .... far tastier than the more common spit roast catering in my opinion It was great to meet new SNAers and get to know others a bit better. It could have been an expensive day, however, as I managed to sneak away at one point and have a listen to evils system, which has now got me thinking about Hulgrichs 2

We have a lot to be thankful for, thanks to his hard work and dedication to making Stereonet such an asset to the broader hifi and audiovisual community, in Australia and overseas. Marc rates the Hulgich' speakers very highly and I totally agree with him, have managed to fine tune the system recently with swapping of power, speaker cable and interconnect cables etc. to virtually all Nordost and I'm amazed at the level of performance being extracted - both from analog and digital sources. Barely anything that needs changing now, possibly isolation feet for the Astor's but might need to just sit back , relax and enjoy the tunes! 5
Guest Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 And Roon! And 4K Clive. Great to see and chat with many of you yesterday and it’s always a great day at Evil Springs - we are fortunate to have such a good bunch of blokes in our community. I enjoyed myself and despite arriving late - the grub was still top notch - thanks Doug! Very grateful to Clive for staying committed to the social side of StereoNET. Thanks mate. 4
LogicprObe Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 Looks down from Sydney with envy....................
Black Orange Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 Thanks, Mr and Mrs Evil for another wonderful Xmas GTG. Your hospitality has been excellent as usual. Had a wonderful afternoon with the lovely food (amazing work Doug) and company. Even the weather was perfect. Couldn't have wished for more. Spent a short time listening to the system and it's sounding better that I have heard before. Those Nordost cable and power boards are really something. Thanks again for opening your home and hosting a terrific event. 2
Get off My lawn Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 That looks like a great GTG It's inspiring me to try and organise a GTG here! @Tubularbells meat offerings looks good enough to fly to Melbourne for. 1 1
Phil G Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 I had a great day and it was my first GTG for a very long time. Thanks Clive for the invite, which was greatly appreciated. Doug did a sensational job of cooking so thanks and well done. I had to leave early as I had another function to attend. From the listen to Clive's system that I had I was totally impressed. Very well sorted sound in a great room. Congrats. Happy festive season! 2

blybo Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Thanks @evil c for hosting us all and to @Tubularbells for the awesome food. Getting better every time I've tasted your BBQ Doug, so I dip me lid. Great to catch up with some old and new friends. Geez I reckon every beer or wine drunk in the sun is worth 2. I was certainly into the Christmas spirit by the time I had to leave. Unfortunately I had duck off early and my Uber arrived within 2 minutes of ordering, so sorry if I didn't get a chance to say goodbye properly. Would you believe the driver was a local, and was a long time client of my wife's practice, which is just around the corner from Clive's place. 3
darth vader Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Thanks for a great day Clive. I did miss out on the ribs. Given how late I was and how nice the other meats were its no wonder. Your system is sounding really nice Clive, only need a 4K PJ now..... 1
