andyr Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) The miniDSP 10x10Hd manual says: "the 10x10Hdcan “learn” the control codes of your current remote, if it supports one of the following remote control codes: * NEC * Sony * Philips RC6" I have decided to 'get with it' and buy a new, dedicated remote for my 10x10Hd (as I do not have any other remotes in the room that my hifi system is located). I'd be grateful for some advice: Is it just a matter of going to an electronics store and buying a remote for an NEC / Sony or Philips RC6 TV? Or is there a better remote, specifically for the 10x10Hd? Thanks, Andy Edited December 6, 2019 by andyr
andyr Posted January 6, 2020 Author Posted January 6, 2020 As I have now solved this problem ... I thought I would post the result, in case anyone else wants to use a remote with a miniDSP unit. I discovered that the Logitech 'Harmony 650' lists the miniDSP 10x10Hd as a device it is compatible with. So, I then bought a Logitech 650. However, the Logitech Harmony web-site is not clear on how to program the 650 to control a 10x10Hd. First try was a failure - so, as the 10x10Hd understands 'Sony code', what I ended up doing was specifying on the Harmony web-site that I was going to control a Sony TV (I plucked a model no. from the Internet). Sony code was then downloaded to the Logitech 650 - and this enabled me to change from one stored config to the other on the 10x10Hd by pressing buttons '1' thru '4'! Andy
