How many new songs did you listen to in 2019? Who was your #1? Any surprises?

Umm...if your asking, your actually supposed to start the process but I clicked on your post and couldn't find it.

 

So who is your #1?

Are you genre fluid?

Have you listened to artists from more than a 100 countries?

Does your top 5 artists span 400 or better years?

(Spotify is telling me that all of the above apply)

 

I have a tie at the moment with Alpha Mist and Einstürzende Neubauten as my most listened to artists.

 

Not a single Dire Straits or  DSOTM or Led Zep or Dr John or sadly Mrs Mills...shows up in my stats.

 

Johan Jonatan "Jussi" Björling comes in third and August Greene features as does Emancipator.

 

The rest of the stuff is just white noise I listen to while working or driving.

Yes

Not sure how I can find out about that.

Same as above, not sure how to find that out on Spotify.

 

I was trying to create a bit of suspense

I was pleasantly surprised with the number of new music I listened to, if I'd been asked I'd have guessed a lot less, so there you go.

 

I have to point out that I share my account is shared in my household with with my wife and kids, so the results are not just my preference.

But I came back to say that if you scroll through your wrap for the year it should just say that you've listened to artists from X amount of countries and it should also tell you that your music spans X amount of years.

 

Go back and start again from your email alert.

Then again if it's a shared account then one of your pesky kid maybe messing with their Dad...?">

In 2019 I discovered 134 artists. 

 

My top song was Boys of Summer by Don Henley (that one must be embedded in their artist radio).

 

Top artist is Kings of Leon - yep, recently discovered their catalogue.

 

Genre fluid.

 

731 hours spent on Spotify this year.

I'm not sure how I can get the stats you guys are able to get, maybe I'm not that savvy with spotify, anyway.

One thing I did early this year was to create a Discovery playlist for 2019, anything I heard and liked I'd add to the playlist, total about 115 new songs and many new artists.

 

Some of the artists I enjoyed listening the most this year I reckon as follows:

Laurel

GoGo Penguin

Piers Faccini

Kevin Morby

Weval

Warhaus

Eagles

Flight Facilities

and a few others....
