Raiden Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 (edited) Item: Paradigm 9SE Speakers Location: Collingwood Park, Qld (between Brisbane & Ipswich) Price: $220 Firm - I won't go any lower so please don't ask. This is a seriously good pair of speakers for the money. (pickup only) Item Condition: Excellent for their age. All drivers and tweeters functioning correctly. I cannot feel any rubbing of the voice coils and no dented dust caps! The only thing to mention is that when I got them, there was a very small tear in one of the surrounds (original owner said it was from his cat). The rest of the driver was perfect so I contacted a speaker repairer and was advised to apply some Dynagrip weatherstrip & trim adhesive to the inside of the surround - it worked perfect (I have added a pic). Note: In the pics the black appears washed out. The speakers are in fact black. As for the cabinets - some very minor marks, and a some slight discolouration to the top of one of them (refer pic) - other than that the cabinets are in fantastic condition. Cloth grills attach with no broken lugs & Paradigm logo intact. Reason for selling: No longer required Payment Method: Cash (preferred), Paypal (+3%) or Bank Deposit Extra Info: I built the stands with floor spikes to bring them to the same height as the 9se mk3, and what a difference this made to the sound!!! Raiden Posted November 28, 2019 Author Posted November 28, 2019 @Wimbo Ha ha, tell me about it! a few years ago these wouldn't have lasted a day - a sign of the times I guess...!
RussB Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 I used to have a pair of these and they really are very nice sounding speakers and a bargain at this price. GLWTS. 1
olegau Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 I had Paradigm Reference Studio_100 V1 and now I own Paradigm Reference Studio_20 V1. Both of them nice, natural sounding speakers. Paradigm is a legend company. Not many companies design quality drivers. Paradigm does. 1
Ben&w Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 Hi there! Just wondering which year they were made and if they are testable? Cheers.
Raiden Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 Hi, I think they were released in 1990 - I've seen a Paradigm product range leaflet dated 1990 with this model. The speakers will be hooked up so that the buyer can test them before taking them away - but at this price I will not entertain anyone who just wants to hear what they sound like.
