Arry74 Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 Looking at Panasonic 820 as nothing seems comparable at this price range? Won't spend more than say $600. Thoughts

Quark Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 Agree, the UB820 is a good choice. Plenty of reports of the Sony X800 pausing on some layer changes, so hard to recommend. You can get the UB820 for $520 delivered through Selby's ebay store with the current $50 discount promotion.
Arry74 Posted November 25, 2019 Author Posted November 25, 2019 (edited) Cheers guys, picked one up but apparently won't play NTSC discs the guy told me. Edited November 25, 2019 by Arry74

You can buy a remote that will allow you to change DVD regions (not blu-ray) - see here. Note there are a number of ebay sellers with them, not just the one in the link. 1
Arry74 Posted November 25, 2019 Author Posted November 25, 2019 So doesn't make it multi region for UHD discs?

UHD discs have no region locking - that only applies to some DVD and blu-ray discs. 7 minutes ago, Arry74 said: Looks like this may do the trick ? By all accounts it works, but I'm not a fan of any business that won't set a price up front. 1

Sweet I don't have to worry then. Cheers guys 1

If you find its to much effort to swap discs[like me ] Its very easy to convert all your dvd's ; pal and ntsc with makemkv which the 820 will play just like it does mp4's avi's m2ts files etc . Just need a common usb disc drive and a hard drive plugged into the pana MakeMKV - Make MKV from Blu-ray and DVD WWW.MAKEMKV.COM MakeMKV - software to convert blu-ray and dvd to mkv 1
