Have a rare US Led Zep 1 cc at/gp that turned up from Kazakhstan cracked.
Got a full refund.
It is cracked through half the record. The seller decided it would be fine not to use proper mailers and use a piece of cardboard. Which may have been okay if he didn’t use a piece with a fold in the middle of it. Surprised it wasn’t cracked all the way through.

There are no more of these for sale on Discogs in vg+ or better anymore

Can it be saved?

Glue?

How neat is the crack?  If it matches up again perfectly, with no chips, yes, you can probably get it to play.  Definitely try a cheap stylus the first time - don't risk an expensive one, a listen carefully for problems.    A small drop of superglue on the lead in edge may help stabilise it.  Make sure you cue up after the glue when you play it.  I would digitise it as soon as you can, so you have a copy.

I wouldn't.  I don't even like a bad scratch.

AT/GP . George Piros mid 1970s ?

5 digit matrix ?

Is it rare because there's no more on Discogs right now?

I take it you don't like the current pressing?

Is a clean crack no gaps or missing bits. Might try super glue nothing to loose. It’s already stuffed.

Yep need a cheap stylus to see how it goes. Deffo not trying it out with the current one.

It’s the mid 70’s Piros master. I already had a copy but it has groove damage. thought I would try and get another. This one looks hardly played. Am pretty bummed it’s stuffed.

I like the Piros master more than the Classic records one I have.

Haven’t heard the new Release . What’s it like?

I must stress.  Don't use glue anywhere near the grooves you want to play.  It will ooze out and block them.  Glue it right on the very edge where you won't put down a stylus.

I will also say, I do this all the time on old 78s.    Haven't tried it on an LP.  I remember as a kid, we had a 45 that was cracked partway, and you could just push it back so it was aligned, and it would play.

Perhaps check the grooves under a microscope after gluing to check if some has seeped into the groove.  You may be able to do a restoration of the groove if glue does get in there.  I would think in a worst case scenario it would be like a piece of debris in the groove that causes a needle-jump.  But best try to keep it away from the groove.

No don't even try to glue in areas where you want to play the grooves. Glue will seep into them for sure. Just stabilise it with glue at the end of the crack (edge of the record.  If the other end of the crack passes near the label, you might add a drop there after the leadout grooves.

I have an Aussie pressing of Mahavishnu's Inner Mounting Flame that is cracked through from the spindle hole all the way to the outer edge. By very carefully lining it up I can play both sides through without even a single click emanating from the crack. As stated above, if there is no material missing, and it can be aligned properly, it should play OK.

I was thinking it might seep into the lead-in groove by accident.  I agree, keep it away from the playing area, the glue is to stabalise the break, not to repair it.
