daffo Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 (edited) Hey guys, I just saw that Digital Cinema is doing the Dark Titanium LS50's for $1299 + $31 postage for me (only $10 for Syd metro), which is almost the price they go for in the classifieds here. It's got me thinking...Is it a worthwhile upgrade? I currently have a Peachtree Nova 125SE amp and an SVS SB2000 sub. The peachtree specs: 125 watts per channel < 0.5% distortion into 8 Ω 220 watts per channel < 0.5% distrortion in to 4 Ω Would these pair well or would I need to upgrade the amp? I've heard they can be hard to drive/match with amps. Cheers Edited November 5, 2019 by daffo
KRSDarwin Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 Hi Daffo, my LS50s are paired with a NAD D3020 which is 2 x 30w in 8 ohms and the sound is sensational. Admittedly, as you can see, it is near field listening but no issue with SPL My pairing was partly based on a Stereophile review. Unfortunately I haven’t heard the LS 50s with the Peachtree. I don’t think your watts per channel will be an issue. Good luck.
