StickyBidon Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Hi All I'm looking to sell my Orpheus Aurora 3 floorstanders (original version) and wondering what peoples thoughts are on a fair price? They are in excellent condition with a very slight mark on the left speaker grille and a few light scuff on the cabinet corners. Thanks!
Guest Muon N' Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 (edited) There were different iterations using different tweeters/drivers, may help to post a pic with grills off. Edit: deleted incorrect model pic Edited November 5, 2019 by Muon N'
StickyBidon Posted November 5, 2019 Author Posted November 5, 2019 Thanks for the reply. Sorry, should have done that to begin with! 1
Syrot Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Looks like a V1.1 or V2 with the offset tweeter. Seen them go for $300-$400 recently which in my opinion is way to cheap for such great speakers. 1
jt301 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 They look exactly the same as speakers I used to own so I’d suggest they’re version 2. I assume they’re the normal version, not signature edition. They went to version 3 in 2007, so you’re talking about a speaker at least 12 years old that had an rrp around $2k when it was last sold new. I sold my signature version of these in 2012 for $800. This is the long way of saying $300 - $400 is probably a fair price for them now.
StereoInOz Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 They are selling between $300-$400 last time I checked on Gumtree.
StereoInOz Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Any visual difference between version 2 & 3? Are they labelled version 3, or is that too obvious?
davewantsmoore Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 If you have to sell them for $300 bucks, then make sure they go to friends or family if you can, as they are "worth" much more than that.
Interface Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 With the kevlar cones they are the second version of Auroras so they are Aurora 3.2.
StickyBidon Posted November 14, 2019 Author Posted November 14, 2019 Thanks everyone, I've put them on ebay for $400 so see how it pans out!

Totally agree. These are such great speakers. I would even love to have a second pair. I paid $500 6 months ago and They are worth every cent. And why not put them up for sale on this forum?
