So far research says that either NOS RCA, Telefunken or similar would suit. Happy to try out current production Gold Lions and Tung Sol.

I actually had a set of these in my first valve amp (PrimaLuna) a few years back - they didn’t suit the PL, however I’m aware different circuits yeild different results. im actually trying to stay away from that website so I don’t accidentally order a set of ACME’s!! 1

It becomes a game of educated guess work. The RCA and Telefunkens have a very different sound character to each other. Tube rolling is yet another rabbit hole in this hobby. And a big one at that! I have slowly collected 22 different types and the results are quite amazing. Worthwhile exercise once you get it right! RCA's are cheaper than Telefunken's so that's a relatively low risk first move in the NOS world.

Hopefully when they arrive these will scratch the itch for a little while.

I used them in an older PrimaLuna and found them harsh until a couple of full weekend break in sessions. Then after that I loved them. I only went the KT150 as they were the biggest available to go into the newer HP PrimaLuna. Otherwise I would’ve used the KT120. Also pre tubes will make a big difference. i hope this helps.
