Addz Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 Hi there Any body know where i can purchase some anti diffraction rings for ns1000m? Is this something i should experiment with to improve my system a little or invest time and money elsewhere. Im happy at where my system is at for the time being.. but like all of you..im searching for better sound and need slight improvement but not sure of the next upgrade worth pursuing first.Any info appreciated cheers
Steve M Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 (edited) Be very careful taking the mesh grills off the NS1000 and shattering the beryllium mid & tweeter dome material, the domes are both fragile and toxic! I personally would not interfere with the diffraction rings/frames around the drivers ...the rings are engineered to be part of the speaker and nothing to be gained in removing or adding to them. Addz Posted October 30, 2019 Author Posted October 30, 2019 Hi steveThanks for your helpIn regards to the ns1000m factory diffraction rings i was not intending to touch them at all or the grills. I was under the impression you can use foam type rings that clip onto the driver fasters. On and off with ease.
Guest jakeyb77 Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 I’ve seen the ones you’re talking about and I’d say it’s all BS. The best upgrade I ever made to the NS-1000 was to throw the garbage cabinets away and have custom 24 ply birch ones made. Huge improvement in sound and looks.
