Looking to roll the stock 12AX7 in my Vincent integrated pre stage. Have heard good things about Telefunken NOS but open to other suggestions. Also new issue Mullards or Gold Lions if in great condition (otherwise easy enough to buy new).

 

FWIW I mostly play classical (orchestral, concertos etc.) plus some rock and favour dynamics, detail (macro / micro), sound stage etc. so not necessarily looking for warm tubey sound.

 

Only really need one. Local preferred. Open to suggestions.

Hi,

I have a strong matched pair of 1967 Sylvania Baldwin 12ax7's. Green label, Made in USA, very low hours around 50ish. Test results are high for their age, sections are evenly balanced. Silk print is good on these. I think these will be right up your alley. I found them ideal for classical music, clean and detailed. I prefer the Mullards in my amp and these are just sitting in their boxes in the cupboard.

I have a drawer full of tubes - mainly NOS matched pairs, including some Telefunken - I would only sell in pairs - mostly unused.

 

I want to keep some for myself, but have (according to my partner) accumulated too many!
