happydoomer Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 Hi fellas, anyone had any experience with Subsonic Xm3 speakers. Local store usually has them in stock but is all out until new order comes through, then I will go in with my amp & have a listen. Australian brand that some people love is all I know. Thanks in advance, Ben.
mattd2308 Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Like some Australian brands don't have the niche label, put PMC or Dynaudio label on them, likely be untouchable. Guaranteed they will punch well above their weight. Reading on website, Rod Crawford had some form of affiliation with this product, give Subsonic a call, be happy to chat to you I would think. Beauty of Australian designers, you can actually TALK to them and ask about their product. I did with Rod, did some research on some Legend Kantu 9's. Happy with them immensely. Have some XB2 bookshelf for my daughters little system, do the job admirably. As you read topics on this forum, many contributors speak highly of Australian speaker manufacturers, particularly Hulgich, M8audio, Lenehan, Osborn, Legend, Krix, Richter and others. My 2c Matt
blakey72 Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 Yes I know a thing or two about Subsonic and have owned a pair of PM2's years ago. They are a very well designed and made speaker IMO. They actually have links to the original Richter brand with the desiger Duncan Best comming from there when Ralph sold Richter. I actually met Duncan at Audiotrends in Melbourne when he had just finished a prototype of his newly designed PM1's. I was lucky enough to get an invite to audition them along with the staff at the time. I think they were tri-amped and sounded very big, bold and detailed. I haven't heard the XM series so couldn't comment on them though I'm sure they would be a solid performer. Which amp are you running?
