pdcoo7 Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Silly question but could one import music files to the internal ssd or in order to get the benefit of the metadata extraction one needs to rip from a CD?

My understanding is that one needs to rip from a CD to get the benefit of their metadata retrieval. The user manual, found here https://www.dropbox.com/s/yz5ou15rtixnk5c/aria piccolo_ANDROID_UserManual.pdf?dl=0 , does mention importing (and exporting) files as well as adding missing cover art, though does not specially cover your question. I suggest it is still worth having a look through the manual as it provides a helpful understanding of Piccolo functionality.
Luc Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 (edited) @pdcoo7I've just added 2tb of files to my Piccolo+ which is the latest version of this one and once they're on the drive the streamer accesses it's database and if there's info on what you've put on then it'll bring it up. What you find with these though is that it's meta data and the data bases it accesses can differ from the albumwork you've just put on. These are great things for the anal retentive in us all, you muck around as much as you wish or as little as you wish. Mp3Tag/Simplicity are two apps that you should utilise to bring the metadata into what you want it to be. The pic below shows the Aria app on my ipad mini. There's an awful awful lot you can do with this app and I've only scratched the surface of both it and the actual streamer. You can set up zones in your house with different bluetooth speakers like the Node and Sonos ect and you can play different streams of music at the same time in those assorted rooms. Also does multichannel 24-bit/96kHz PCM and DSD64 files, DXD and DSD256 in multichannel, So there's a lot you can do with these. *The differences between the OP's one and mine are larger storage and the internal DAC . You can get separate PSU for these if you wish as well . GLWTS op. Edited October 27, 2019 by Luc 1
