Or a combination of of these as well as being usb/computer compatible or stand alone. I've used this as DAC and headphone amp on my main hifi set up running a cd transport into it as well as a music streaming service. I've also used it as a preamp running active speakers. I've also used it as a DAC on my computer. It is compatible with optical fibre, coaxial and USB digital set ups.
