Alphason Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Item: NuForce Ref 9 Ver 3 SE Power Amps Location: Belgrave, Melbourne Price: $2,000 Item Condition: As New Reason for selling: Funding upgrade to Parasound CJ5 Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I purchased these power amplifiers one year ago from a dealer in N.SW. who had closed up his business. I did not get to use them until July of this year due to a home renovation, they are only just run. In my opinion they are the best sounding amplifiers that I have owned. However, since purchasing these last year I have upgraded my speakers from Dynaudio Contour S3.4 to Dynaudio C2’s, so I have upgraded my amplification. Audition at my home in Belgrave is welcome. audiohifiaudio Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Killer amplifiers for the money. Good luck with the sale.
Alphason Posted October 17, 2019 Author Posted October 17, 2019 Thanks, at the price they are a bargain for someone and I agree, they sound awesome!
monyx Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Almost tempted to change over my R9V3SE (internally upgraded) for the newer cases...but absolutely no difference in performance just aesthetics only!
Gremrock Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 They look like the silver ones I used to own. If they are the upgrades are worth as much as the amps, may be more. Absolute killer amps if you want power and small size. The v3 boards are a big improvement too.
audiohifiaudio Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 The v3 really sounds good. I dont like to many class D amps but the nuforce v3 is very good sounding. Also for $2k's real bargain. They ran my wilson bensch like champions.
Alphason Posted October 19, 2019 Author Posted October 19, 2019 I have used the Yamaha streaming preamp, the Bel Canto VB3.5 Dac and the Bel Canto VB3.5 CD player separately and combined very successfully. My regular preamp is the Modwright LS37.5 and PS37.5 valve preamp which works fantastically. NuForce did make a matching preamp which I have seen from time to time secondhand for not a lot of money. They are the P-8 and P-9. I would love to know how they sound with the Lightspeed Attenuator, I think they would be one of the most transparent combinations out there if they match.
