Guest scumbag Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 (edited) Item: Tungsram Diamond 1960's 7DJ8 matched pairs (x1 pairs) Location: Brisbane Prices: See below. Item Condition: NOS. Writing varies - see notes. Reason for selling: Surplus. Payment Method: Pickup & postage = Paypal (as a friend or add 3%) Extra Info: Up for sale, 2 sets of Telefunken Diamond 7DJ8's from the Ulm factory in West Germany. The Telefunken Diamond 6V / 7V tubes have gained quite a following and prices are steadily going up. I've seen these go for $500 from some sources. The 7DJ8 is a drop in replacement for most 6V devices (6922, 6DJ8, 6N23P etc). They operate at a 7V plate voltage which in my experience does give a different sound to the 6V equivalents. The 7Dj8's have a bit more of a laid-back sound. Treble is not quite as pronounced, in my setup.. Midrange is very smooth. The 7DJ8's might have a smidgen less gain that the 6V tubes too. I prefer the more dynamic 6DJ8 variations in my setup but that's a question of taste - the 7DJ8's are great tubes! The first 3 photos are of one set that I have with very close matched tests. I have used them for about 8 hours to make sure they are OK. These are totally quiet in use. Writing is a bit worn on this pair. Nice clean pins and clean glass. The 2nd set are the same tubes, closely matched tests but with about 300 hours on them (total life should be 5000-10,000 hours). . I ran these for a few weeks. Again no noises, tube rush etc. Writing is a bit worn but they are the real deal.. Clean pins and glass.. Very closely matched. First set $150 including post. 2nd set is $150 including post. Photos: NOS (-8 hours) This set sold,: Edited October 17, 2019 by scumbag
