akeswick81 Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 (edited) Item: 2x SVS SB16 Ultra Subwoofer (Gloss Black) REDUCED Location: Melbourne, Northern Suburbs Price: $6000 for the pair or $3000 ONO (RRP $4990) Item Condition: Excellent. Minor swirl marks from cleaning. Noticeable in harsher light. Reason for selling: Funding a new project. Payment Method: Pickup - Direct Deposit, COD. Extra Info: Bought these as part of my multi sub set up. Serious overkill for my purposes, yet so incredibly fun! Two is enough. These made four! So, they weren’t driven hard. Truly amazing units. These have been looked after. Happy to demo the subwoofers for the buyer. UPDATE: ONE SOLD. ONE available. It only takes a Google search to know that these are earth shattering, well made and highly praised. Due to their size local pickup would be ideal. I'm willing to freight interstate and am happy to consult with the buyer/s regarding shipping agent and costs. They come in their original boxes with packaging, steel mesh grilles and power cords. The remote app for full control of the subs is available for free download. https://www.svsound.com/products/sb16-ultra Edited October 15, 2019 by akeswick81 New details. 4
Syrot Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 These are beasts, my mate has the ported version of this sub and it produces unreal bass, yet still tight and very well controlled. I cant image how good two sealed units would sound. 1
akeswick81 Posted October 10, 2019 Author Posted October 10, 2019 Thanks for your comment and enthusiasm. I found when comparing the two i.e. ported and sealed SVS 16 options that the sealed configuration (especially in a smaller space?) gives a sharper transient response. While the more restrained option it just felt and sounded preferable for my taste. Stunning!
Ittaku Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Willing to split them, and if so, how much each?

Hi-Fi Whipped Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Yep, all the bass you will ever need right here! One would be awesome, two would be frightening! GLWTS! 1

akeswick81 Posted October 11, 2019 Author Posted October 11, 2019 Hey there Stereonet community! What can I do to help encourage the sale of these beauties?
Guest Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 I sold quite a few components earlier in the year. The popular ones went quick but others either required patience and/or lower prices. Given the weight of the units, passing on the responsibility of shipping does not help. Suggest providing dimensions and weight of boxed unit, or better still provide some estimates say to Sydney and Perth. They will normally require a lift truck. But some couriers allow a second person to load & unload, at a considerable saving. Hint: offer to help load (if you can).

Eagleeyes Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 Even go one step further and check out the prices as per Snoopy and include free freight Aus Wide. Try Transdirect.com.au and create an account and you will be surprised at the prices you can gain. I think with this referral link to them you get 20% off as well. I do use personally and think they are good. https://www.transdirect.com.au/referral_discount/2aaeafc0b466fd116d5f06494334e7fd 1

akeswick81 Posted October 12, 2019 Author Posted October 12, 2019 What a champion, Eagleseyes! Will look into it ASAP. Tried trans direct. Due to the size of one box (1 x parcel @ 66kg and dimensions 63x64x77cm) the site says I need a forklift/hydraulic lift available at the place of pick up and delivery. Worth a try, nonetheless.
Eagleeyes Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 no you cannot get passed the fact they weigh so much but they do offer you options. The weight is a killer and beyond the normal margin for two men to carry safely and couriers generally only have one guy on hand so they need the lift to use a trolley. Anyway GLWST.

Another option springs to mind. Thanks for your interest and support, Eagleeyes!
Guest Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 I know TNT will do it and so will e-go but I cannot recommend them, very poorly rated. Can get a custom quote from Pack & Send. Another one is Justfreight, com,au. You will need to search for others who can do 66 kg. Sorry you need to go through all this, but doing all this leg work could make it easier to sell these monsters interstate.

I bought & shipped my own little monster (SB13U) many years ago from Brisbane using e-go (but they have gone downhill, see online reviews and so,so recent shipment, hence not recommended). GLWTS...

Halve the price and I will take both? Seriously though, if people need to think about freight, consider removalists that trek up and down the east coast, would take up next to no space in a truck, will be well wrapped and always 2 guys onboard who lift things a hell of a lot heavier than these. might be 2 or 300 bucks delivered door to door Glws 1

Thanks. If they were worth half the price I’d ask for that. [emoji3] I am willing to entertain reasonable able offers, though. Hehehe. Yes, about $300 -$350 to NSW from VIC sounds about right. 1
hopefullguy Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 shipping is interesting.. at 66kg just about all freighters will use a truck with a rear lift. those that dont have will charge a lot for that extra service. i would say about ego.. dont always go by the online reviews. i have used them many times and the trick is depot to depot delivery. subs at 40kgs, amps and avrs up to 18kgs, never had insurance or needed it. the weight limit does not seem to matter.. as for pack and send? i find them hit and miss as individual shops just make up pricing, poor boxing and packaging and damaged. but each to their own. 2

hopefullguy Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 the thing is.. any freighter can be good one day and bad the next, you just need to eliminate the chances i see many people sell stuff and pack in the original box but for me thats still not good enough. the original box was not shipped by itself, handled by several lowest bidder self employed delivery people.. they were factory packed, stacked and shipped. imo extra internal packing is needed and even extra strengthening of the box. i remember getting a original yammy rxv3075 and was appalled by the original box/packing vs my equivalent denon. but again just the rant of a picky seller/buyer anyway
