k3here Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Only have a very small collection of Dub records and at times that's what I feel I want to play. You know, massive bass, beats but chilled. But I find it hard to find "good" dub records as a lot are meh. I dunno, stuff like this Anyone got suggestions or a good spotify playlist? 1

k3here Posted September 27, 2019 Author Posted September 27, 2019 I am really liking the Pitch Black. Thought I only would like old school du but the modern dub is good too. 1
warweary Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 +1 for Fat Freddys Drop. St Germain is good too, especially the album Tourist.
mikey d Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Check out any ( or all) Lee 'Scratch' Perry. Prince Jammy, King Tubby, Scientist, Tapper Zukie, Adrien Sherwood etc, etc. Go to the roots. The original & the best. Currently spinning, Spinning this earlier, 1 1
hired goon Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Lots of good stuff already mentioned. I'm less fond of traditional dub these days, with lots of echo and quick fade outs, and more into psydub (taking elements of psychedelic trance and adding dub, e.g. Shpongle, Hallucinogen, Globular, etc) and dub techno (kinda filtered lush house with dub). e.g. Globular - A Self-Fulfilling Prophecy There's lots of good stuff on the Dubmission label (featuring Pitch Black, Slow Fried Dub, etc): https://dubmission.bandcamp.com/music And you can always poke around for albums tagged as 'dub' on Bandcamp here: https://bandcamp.com/tag/dub --Geoff 3
