just a bit of an update on this little adventure, so far 43 out of 63 rooms booked but some major players not committing due to noses being out of joint, seems like they didn't get first choice of rooms like they were promised. they might be forced to another hotel around the corner as all of the larger spaces are taken and big toys don't necessarily work in smaller rooms.

and for the people who think retailers and distributors are making enormous profits, its going to cost them as a collective $358687.34 in room fees alone to show you something new. go figure.

Ahhh it brings back memories.....the politics behind the scenes.

G, did you mange to get the room you wanted?

The price is good value when you consider 60+ rooms on offer.

Guys, if there are 40 - 60 rooms of exhibition, it should make a great show.

morning enigma,

there is the ground floor then the 3rd which is all committed bar 2 rooms ,the 4th where there are 4 rooms remaining [this is the floor where more esoteric gear is going to be ,us included] and the 5th floor has 11 rooms still available as of yesterday. of politics, still plenty more to come yet.

regards,g.

and that was what I was initially worried about. I'm hoping you get lots of visitors so it keeps the cost down. 20/30 is quite reasonable, even on the cheapish side for a big show (from memory the last Brisbane motoring show was around $50 to enter a few years ago)...

Dave

PS you failed to miss the sarcasm in my previous post a few weeks ago.

Is this info reliable?

I'm quite shocked that this many rooms would be snapped up so early.

I'd best get cracking with signing up I suppose.....

reliable, do you want the floor plans, exhibitor room allocations and costs of each space as well.

I got all that a while back, thanks.

A couple posts back you mentioned the 4th floor is where the 'esoteric' gear will be.

What and who decides which gear is esoteric?

i didn't and i don't think anyone did, i just had a look at who was exhibiting on that floor and it seemed not so run of the mill. nothing wrong with other floors , just a bit more out there. but hey, that's just me.

You were right - I'm in though, with plenty to spare.

If I had of left it another month like I was planning, I may have missed out.

We're on the 5th floor, room 510.

Thanks for the heads up

no worries, you can buy the first round.

i think it will all be sold out by the end of the month. at past shows there were always a couple of operators who left it to the last minute to squeeze a better deal but if they try the same line they will be lining up to pay $20 just like everyone else.

cheers.

Is there a list G that we are allowed to see of confirmed exhibitors?

Nope, just a straight $68000 tt, arm and cartridge. I'm still deciding on which stepup model. Expensive tt's are back in, Joe sold a clearaudio master reference, arm and goldfinger cartridge with $50000 worth of Odin cable to someone the other day who has 3 records. Takes all kinds.

Bryan what $68000 TT? is there a decimal in there?

Morning All,

AN UK rooms are always one of the highlights of the O/seas Shows in a oasis of basically bad rooms full of overpriced and poxy sounding setups, the AN boys Mario/ Copey /etc

make sure the goods deliver-- I'm certain it'll be one best sounding Rooms from my experiences there.
