hlov Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 An Introduction to Jazz with Herbie Hancock at the Opera House, incredible good. This is the link for anyone interested https://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/festivals/vivid-live/2019/backstage/herbie-hancock-career-highlights.html 2
2Brix Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 Janelle Monae - Dirty Computer. This album is really growing on me, having given it quite a few listens now and intend to pick up on vinyl somewhere down the track. Enjoying the mixture of funk (Make Me Feel), provocation (Screwed...Pynk...I Got The Juice) and contemplative, soul-baring (I Like That...Don't Judge Me). Actually "Don't Judge Me" is my fave track and she delivers this with real courage and feeling. 2

France in the summer of 1978. The movie 'The Last Waltz' was advertised in the cinema yet I could not afford to go, hence I bought this LP set on my return to UK. My musical tastes have considerably broadened in the many years since, hence I'm now amenable to playing those LPs, particularly as I also now own a reasonable TT / cart and phono stage. 1
Esoterica Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 (edited) ‘Twas looking for album masters to play on Tidal and saw this posted in SNA earlier, so thought I’d give it a burl. Pretty good but not as good as Harvest, which is the only Neil Young album that I really like. I find most of his stuff boring but Harvest has several excellent songs. So far the title track is the most enjoyable and sounds good at >90kHz The track “We don’t smoke it no more” sounds great, especially since I enabled ‘output to MQA dac’ on my Node. I’m enjoying this more now, harmonica and strings sounding sweet. Edited July 1, 2020 by Esoterica Forgot the pic 1
Little_Joe Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 It has been a while since I’ve listened to this album.
