romekaff Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Anybody know how much the cabs would cost to bring back to new.....2k or more? Less?
old bloke Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 As a cabinet maker i think it would be under $2K. It is actually a straightforward job...you are just veneering two sides and the top I imagine. Flat planes. I qualify regarding the availability of american oak though I know all types of veneers are available so need not be oak if you wish. Teak? Red cedar? Rosewood? All options. I do not know if they had a foam/cloth front and the costs involved therein. A specialist kitchen builder would have all the necessary equipment and ability. Could be less than a 1K. 3

The speakers are missing the plinths and possibly the tri-quad moulding on the front of the baffle, its hard to tell from the photos. You would replace these if you were going to reveneer so that cost has to be factored in also. I paid $1200 to have a pair 4315B's stripped, re-veneered and lacquered in American Walnut. The 4355's are veneered on the bottom of the cabinet as well. Edited March 26, 2019 by kelossus 1
kelossus Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 These speakers also need an active crossover to function. 4
Xecuter Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Kenrick audio would probably charge you 20k to do these up!
