hotbird Posted May 4, 2002 Posted May 4, 2002 Just update many new songs to my popular ~Moviola~ internet station...so listening to it again... Here's what's currently "new": Latest additions to Moviola, selections from 1. Band of Brothers (gorgeous music from the acclaimed Tom Hanks and Spielberg HBO miniseries, composed and conducted by Micheal Kamen) 2. Stephen Warbeck's Captain Corelli's Mandolin (romantic Italian panaromic music) 3. Lord of the Rings 4. Yann Tiersen's Amelie (touching French soundtrack) 5. Joseph LoDuca's Brotherhood of the Wolf (mystical actioned-packed French movie) 6. Bruno Coulais's Le Peuple Migrateur (poignant soundtrack from the French movie about migratory geese) 7. James Horner's A Beautiful Mind. It's also a beautiful soundtrack..;-) 8. Joe Hisaishi's Kikujiro. Be brightened by his memorable 'Summer' theme that stands out through this Japanese movie.. 9. Hans Zimmer's Black Hawk Down. Zimmer's collaboration with lingua diva Lisa Gerrard stands out once more. 10. We Were Soldiers. This is actually the better war movie :-) 11. Edward Shearmur's K-Pax. Cool ambient soundtrack 12. Joe Hisaishi's Spirited Away. 13. Deep Forest's Pacifique plus rare stuff like Casper Lullaby,The Black Hole etc... http://www.live365.com/stations/245559

Guest MLK Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 Just heard the jazz rendition of Teresa Teng's songs on Taiwan Golden Awards...very interesting, esp. by all male singers. Heard Carole King's Tapestry on LP...so much more emotional than my CD copy. Also listening to Penny Dai's 2nd album "How" and Pink Floyd's "The Wall" album.

Ender1624705735 Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 Is that the live version you're listening to? If not, you gotta listen to them, it simply ROCKS! :) The Endangered Species album is a unplugged version of their greatest hits. Pretty enjoyable too if you don't mind a little more relaxed rendition. The recording is excellent. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird. Awesome triple guitar attack.. I was playing both live and studio version. I agree that LIVE version rocks even more. Endangered species. don't have it.. Thanks to recommending. I'll get it soon once I'm in town to check out the mellow version of their hits.

velvetFrog Posted May 8, 2002 Posted May 8, 2002 I use to have Tang Dynasty on casette. One album only. I like the song "meng hui tang chao". I love this album very much. This is not one of those typical chinese "songs". Lots of western metal influence. After a while , they sound much like pop metal band. Also in my listening are : Bob Dylan Pink Floyd some obscure band and their music from the late 60s' and 70s' where their music is not available in CDs
KKS Posted May 12, 2002 Posted May 12, 2002 Lu Siqing - Vivaldi : The four Season. Seldom bought classical. Saw this album bought it coz it's HDCD and i'm quite familiar with the Four season. I think this album is good for those who wanted to start listening to classical. Saw the review on Lu Siqing and knew that he is the best violinist in China currently.
