gooki Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Interesting read. http://www.nbr.co.nz/article/sony-play-tv-finally-lands-nz-questions-linger-over-limitations-133187 No mention of a paid update to get full EPG data. Also comments section show EPG was working for all channels, but has since had some removed.
Hopper1553552708 Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 Not much to it, I haven't had mine on in a while, so I don't know if there has been any improvement or updates.
gooki Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 My tip - if your stuck scratch your head on how to update PlayTV it's hidden under Settings > About. Because you know - that's a very logical place to put it especially when it says update available on the main screen, but no way to select it. My pet peeve. They've hard coded the buttons. On my PS3 O is always the okay button and X is the back button, but the PlayTV app has the buttons hard coded the other way round

gooki Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Lolz, actually i believe the button issue arises because my PS3 is from Japan
Instinct Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Does anyone know if there is a way (hopefully easy!) to back up the recording made using the Play TV to an extenal device or at least so you can play back files in the XCross media bar on the PS3... Ideally I want to grab some screen shots from a few programs I recorded and this is much easier to do on a PC.. just need a way to get the files there assuming I can read them.

I found an answer here but it doesn't look promising as mine is set to NZ: http://www.freeviewshop.co.nz/forum/index.php/topic,422.msg6901.html#msg6901
