Gidday Gary,

Jaycar have their range of aircored inductors...

SoundLabs Gp in Oz have Mundorfs, if you want to compare DCR/price etc...

(Actually their Mundorfs look v well priced... add postage of course. Good guys to deal with, altho omegaspeedy may not agree! You may be able to get GST off ;))

I nudged Cameron, and he replied, no stock. They seem to have quite a wide range of listed products, but I'm not sure that they stock it all. I'd like to support local businesses, but they need to be able to deliver.

Thanks Owen for the links. Jaycar's choices are too high in DCR, I also looked at Soundlabs, and they have one that will do, but its $60 Oz... I'm now looking at Madisound, they have a Solen one, 2.25mH, 0.33 Ohms, for US$31.50. They will deliver US Post Priority Mail International, so I'll follow through the checkout and see what the total damage would be.

Anyone point me to someone in this part of the world stocking crossover inductors? Hasaudio have what I want listed (2.2mH lowish R) but haven't replied to my enquiry regarding their having actual stock of the item.

Gary, as Owen pointed out, Soundlabs group are excellent. Depending on the quality of your project, I can tell you that these are fabulous, as I found out with my project. They are light years better than your standard inductor. Trust me you won't be disappointed. The only downside is cost but what you won't get is a strangled veiled presentation that the others seem to give.

Owen, I've bought lots of stuff from them since they replaced my B200 and have been fantastic to deal with. They come highly recommended as far as i'm concerned. fast delivery no fuss.

Well Madisound wanted about US$54 for US Post, and US$49 for Fedex. The post charge must be an anomaly. On that basis they are about $140 NZ. Soundlabs are 2 x AU$60 for the inductors, plus delivery. Anyone give me an idea of the delivery cost from Soundlabs?

What sizes do you need?

I have some Solen Perfect Lay and bog standard Madisound ones in a box at home.

If you had Perfect Lay in 2.2mH that is what I'm after. Need to be 0.4 Ohms or less DCR.

Hi Gary,

If you are prepared to order from further afield (than local) then I've always found the following 2 suppliers hard to beat on price/shipping, esp at current exch rates:

1) Percy Audio (d/load his PDF catalogue)... you'll find copper foil inductors on p.9. Michael's a one man band, so expect variable communication speed, but I've dealt with him for 10+yrs, he's reliable & hard to beat.

2) THL Audio in Taiwan are also reliable & well priced - they have a number of known-brand inductors.

Shipping costs from both the above ...I doubt you'll find cheaper.

Edit:

With THL, the procedure is to email him your order list & he(Vincent Chang) will quote you with postage.

I had a look last night and all I have are 0.38 and 0.56 mH - sorry about that Gary.

I saw the comment about THL. I have used them as well and they have been good. (So have Madisound, Parts Connexion and Venhaus Audio)
